Each year, several youth clubs from around the pacific northwest put together a competition called the Pacific Northwest Teen Square Dance Festival (PNTSDF). This competition is for dancers up to and including 19 years of age and includes several category’s like Square Dancing, Square Dance Calling, Round Dancing, Round Dance Cueing, and an Exhibition Dancing category for all club members and their advisers and family members.
Typically, the majority of our dancers participate in the PNTSDF. If this is of any interest to you, the first step is to take lessons for the dances you would like to compete in (square dancing, round dancing or both). The next step is to become a club member. After that, you can sign up for competition, but it is up to the coaches to decide if you may compete and which teams you will be on. It is recommended that you delay paying competition fees until you know that you can compete.
